Epcon Award for VERBUND Sustainability Report

The report, which will soon be presented to the public, represents in an integrative manner the economic, ecological and social performance of the VERBUND group as far as ”sustainability“ is concerned. As defined by the United Nations, acting in a sustainable manner means to “satisfy the wants of today’s generation without jeopardizing the future generations’ possibilities of satisfying their wants“.

The prize was awarded by the Institute for International Research (IIR). The report had been drawn up in the company by an interdisciplinary intergroup project team according to the international guidelines of the “Global Reporting Initiative“. At the beginning of May it will appear in print and be available on the VERBUND homepage as well.
