Project Traisen: Verbal Negotations Completed
24.11.2011Zwentendorf
Austria's largest renaturation project was negotiated verbally within the setting of the EIA procedure.
Within the framework of a public hearing in Zwentendorf, a total of 16 assessors from the province of Lower Austria discussed all aspects of the proposals with the technical experts from the VERBUND project team. Light was shed on every detail, from the impact on the flora and fauna right through to the routing of the construction vehicles. Of primary importance for the local residents was that the flood situation should not deteriorate through these plans.
The environmental impact declaration was already submitted for approval in October 2010 as part of an environmental impact assessment. This guarantees that, in all phases of the project, full consideration will be given to man and the environment.
