VERBUND communications with new head of media relations
The start of July 2013 sees Ingun Metelko (44) taking over management of the media relations division within VERBUND Group communications. In this capacity she will also take on the role of Group spokesperson.
From July 2013, Ingun Metelko, hitherto head of communications and spokesperson for Philips Austria, will be responsible for managing the entire VERBUND public relations activities and have an active role as Group spokesperson.
"Within our integrated corporate communications, the media relations team is one of five competence areas which, on the one hand, takes care of the entire public relations tasks for VERBUND and, on the other, is closely linked with the other four competence areas such as brand management/advertising, online, internal and events/sponsoring, as well as with the divisional and regional communication managers. The public relations activities equally comprise regional themes in Austria and abroad, as they do product and market issues, as well as corporate matters. In the person of Ingun Metelko, we are being boosted by a complete professional with many years of experience," said a delighted Beate McGinn, head of VERBUND corporate communications.
In the past 14 years, Carinthian-born Ingun Metelko was employed at Philips Austria in diverse roles as spokesperson, communications manager in various group divisions and, most recently, head of communications. Prior to this, she spent several years as a consultant at the PR agency Publico. Metelko completed studies in journalism and English in Vienna.
