Calculation of the electricity price
The energy price is always transparent and understandable for you. The electricity price is adjusted monthly using the following formula:
P = Epex SPOT monthly average x load profile factor + fixed price share
P.........................................Electricity price (net)
EPEX Spot monthly average.....Average value of all EPEX SPOT base prices of the previous month
Load profile factor…...................Is recalculated annually using the synthetic load profiles according to APCS
Fixed price share….......................Is 1.43 cents/kWh and is not subject to automatic adjustment
The basic price is €2.99 (excluding VAT) per month per metering point
At the European power exchange EPEX SPOT, spot prices for the Austrian market are fixed in the daily spot auction based on supply and demand. The results of the auction and information on the load profile factor are available as a basis for calculating the monthly adjustment of your electricity price and can be downloaded here .
Understand your energy thanks to clear legal information:
1 The electricity price calculated on a monthly basis using the above-mentioned formula includes the costs of the mandatory green energy allocation, the costs of guarantees of origin according to the Green Electricity Act (ÖSG), the costs under the Energy Efficiency Act applicable at the time of signing the contract, and any additional costs due to the price zone separation between Austria and Germany. Electricity price and basic price apply per metering point excluding VAT. The energy prices do not include system usage fees, financing contributions and other costs for promoting green electricity (flat-rate renewables subsidies, renewables contribution), as well as current taxes, duties, surcharges, fees, contributions, or other costs in each case, which VERBUND is obliged to apply and/or bear due to statutory or governmental provisions.
Monthly price adjustment: As an exception to VERBUND AG’s General Terms and Conditions of Business for the supply of electrical energy to companies with a total annual consumption of 0.1 to a maximum of 5 GWh and load profile meters, the electricity price is adjusted at the end of each month using the stated formula for the current month of supply. This price adjustment is expressly agreed and does not entitle the company to extraordinary termination of the contract. The basic price is not adjusted based on this formula. For metering points without load profile measurement, monthly accrual of consumption is determined on the basis of an annual consumption pattern typical of the year, i.e. the synthetic load profile, to which certain percentage values are allocated per month.
Clauses 5.2, 5.3 and 9.2 of the General Terms and Conditions do not apply to VERBUND-Electricity-Float SME.
