Calculation of the gas price

The current gas price is always transparent and understandable for you. The gas price is adjusted monthly in advance using the following formula:

P_current = P_{previous month} x EGIX_{previous month}/EGIX_{month before last}

EGIX..................European Gas Price Index of the EEX (EGIX Germany)

The Gas Price Index for German market areas (EGIX Germany), published monthly by the European Energy Exchange (EEX), was established in 2011 as a transparent benchmark price for the gas market. EGIX Germany takes into account the development of the current front-month contracts of the German market areas THE.

Gas labelling

Gas labelling by VERBUND AG in accordance with Section 130 of the Gas Act (GWG) 2011 and the Gas Labelling Ordinance (G-KenV) for the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. The current supplier mix generates CO2 emissions of 201 g/kWh. No radioactive waste is generated.

²  The prices are solely energy prices. They exclude system usage charges and current taxes, charges and duties on the grid and energy. Currently on energy: Natural gas duty of 7.92 cents/m3 (incl. VAT) and in Vienna and some other municipalities a usage tax of max. 6% of energy costs. Prices apply per metering point with standardised load profile and annual consumption up to 400,000 kWh for companies.
