Calculation of the gas price
The current gas price is always transparent and understandable for you. The gas price is adjusted monthly in advance using the following formula:
PM = EGIXM-1+ fixed price share
PM
gas price1 (net) in current supply month in cents/kWh.
EGIXM-1
The value of the European Gas Index (EGIX) CEGH VTP Month on the penultimate trading day of the previous month converted to cents/kWh. This value is calculated and published by the European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) (www.eex.com). The conversion from EUR/MWh to cents/kWh is as follows: 1 EUR/1 MWh corresponds to 100 cents/1000 kWh (a value in cents/kWh thus corresponds to one tenth of the value in EUR/MWh). The calculation of the EGIX CEGH VTP Month reflects the averaged wholesale price of natural gas in the Austrian market area CEGH VTP and is based on the volume-weighted average daily prices of the front month product. The calculation is made exclusively on valid trading days of the trading month preceding the supply month.
Fixed price share
This is 2.10 cents/kWh and is not subject to automatic adjustment.
Should the index values of the EGIX CEGH VTP Month no longer be published by EEX or cease to exist for any other reason, a new index that is suitable in terms of energy and economically equivalent will be agreed between VERBUND and the customer for the calculation formula.
Gas labelling
Gas labelling by VERBUND AG in accordance with Section 130 of the Gas Act (GWG) 2011 and the Gas Labelling Ordinance (G-KenV) for the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. The current supplier mix generates CO2 emissions of 201 g/kWh. No radioactive waste is generated.

Understand your energy thanks to clear legal information:
1 Prices are solely energy prices (incl. or excl. 20% VAT). They exclude system usage charges and taxes, charges and duties on the grid and energy at the rates set by law (currently natural gas duty in line with the Natural Gas Tax Act, carbon pricing in accordance with the National Emission Allowances Trading Act 2022, and in Vienna and some other municipalities a usage tax of max. 6% of energy costs). Prices are per metering point with standardised load profile and annual consumption of up to 400,000 kWh for households and agricultural enterprises.
