essential
It is indispensable for 10 % of the population.
As an inclusive company, VERBUND is actively committed to accessibility, equal opportunities and self-determined participation for all. In line with the ‘Design For All’ concept, facilities, services and products should be fully usable for all users without additional adaptations. Everyone benefits from accessibility:
It is indispensable for 10 % of the population.
For 40 %, it makes everyday life much easier.
It ensures greater convenience and safety for 100 % of the population.
Our goal is not only to integrate people with disabilities into the VERBUND working world, but to actively include them. To achieve this, it is crucial to create the right framework conditions. We focus on barrier-free workplaces (structural accessibility), barrier-free IT systems (digital accessibility) and colleagues and managers who are open and sensitive in dealing with diversity (active accessibility). Together, we create a working environment in which everyone feels that they belong and are valued.
VERBUND has an accessibility management system and accessibility officers who deal with the accessibility of our buildings and products. In accordance with current laws and standards such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Federal Disability Equality Act (BGStG) and the Accessibility Act (BFSG), we aim to guarantee all stakeholders - including employees, customers, applicants, visitors, business partners, suppliers and investors - physical access to our premises as well as digital access to our websites, apps and programmes in the future.
In addition, we consider the topic of disability and accessibility beyond legal requirements and place great importance on raising awareness. Diversity management promotes understanding of this important topic through targeted information campaigns and training for our employees.
