VERBUND Annual Report 2004 rewarded
With its Annual Report 2004, VERBUND has, for the second time in a row, won gold in the “overall” category (i.e. overall impression) at the Annual Report Competition (ARC), the largest and most important competition of its kind in the world. This makes the VERBUND Annual Report rank among the best reports worldwide.
Every year, the best annual reports in the world are awarded the international ARC award for outstanding performance in creativity and communication. The assessment includes the presentation of the company, the presentation of its financial data, the transmission of its corporate philosophy and the clarity of design and text.
This year marks the 19th ARC Competition to be organized by the New York ranking agency MerComm. The award’s internationally high reputation is based on the organizer’s independence, the competent assessment and the candid feedback the jurors give the participating companies on their annual reports. The jury consists of over 200 experts from the areas of IR, PR, journalism and design.
The central creative idea this year of the VERBUND Annual Report was making visible the invisible by way of the motto “discover power”. 3 photographers - Dietmar Tollerian, Oliver Gast and Rainer Fehringer - gave expression to their personal viewpoint of energy from hydropower by illustrating the themes of “drawing energy”, “using energy”, and “yielding energy”.
The winners of the gold award will receive their prizes at a gala at the “Ritz Carlton” in New York on 9 September 2004. On the occasion of this event the Grand Awards will also be presented, for which the small circle of the gold award winners is nominated.
