VERBUND-Austrian Power Sales: Eco-electricity promotion raises energy price
23.01.2007Wien
The new amendment to the electricity law, which entered into force on 1 January 2007, has caused additional costs under the title of promotion of renewable energies such as biomass, wind power or photovoltaics.
As with all other providers, VERBUND-Austrian Power Sales GmbH (APS), the electricity sales subsidiary of VERBUND, will pass on the additional costs arising from the enacted eco cents to the end users, resulting in end costs of 0.6 cent per kWh for 2007.
With that, an average household with an annual electricity consumption of 4,000 kWh will contribute approx. 2.4 Euro to the promotion of renewable energies. Since these promotion costs affect all Austrian providers, the price structure on the Austrian electricity market will remain unchanged. With that, APS will continue to be the lowest-price provider on the Austrian market.
