VERBUND is Austria’s leading energy company. We supply the entire country with our electricity and are leading the energy transition. Our modern combined cycle gas turbine power plant at the location in Mellach in Styria is a highly efficient thermal power plant. The power plant is used to stabilise the grid and supply district heating, and is ready to step into action when solar and wind power plants drop out due to the weather. The location also serves as a bridge to a low-carbon energy future. In the long term, electricity generation will be 100% CO2-free.

Your apprenticeship. Your power plant.

This training will make you fit for the challenge ahead!

With us, you also get:

  • Five weeks leave per calendar year
  • Accident insurance that protects you both at work and in your free time 
  • Free overnight accommodation at the training workshop in Ybbs-Persenbeug in our apprentice residence 
  • An allowance for your travel expenses to the training workshop in Ybbs-Persenbeug or to the vocational school in Amstetten
  • A bonus for doing well at vocational school and in examinations
  • Perks for difficult work or high workloads 
  • Hours credited for overtime, which you can flexibly use up under our flexitime model 
  • Many other social benefits, such as a Christmas bonus, discounted lunch, and two days of special leave when you pass your final examination

Your training remuneration

according to collective agreement 2022 per month, gross plus allowance(s):

  • 1st year of training:  €   900.00
  • 2nd year of training: €1,122.00
  • 3rd year of training: €1,458.00
  • 4th year of training: €1,925.00
