Information and learning opportunities on the topic of hydropower

The Moosersperre dam towers almost vertically at 107 m and at the same time curves between the rocks at a width of 494 m. With our dam tour, we offer those who are interested the rare opportunity to get to know the inner workings of the structure. Tickets for individual bookings are available at the cash desk in the valley or directly at the Mooserboden kiosk.

Tours take place daily from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and last about one hour. The departure and meeting point for the tour is the Mooserboden kiosk.

The info centre is in the village of Kaprun (Krafthausstrasse 20). Here, with the aid of modern interactive technology, you can find out all sorts of interesting facts about VERBUND, Austria's leading electricity company, as well as about the interplay of nature and technology. From a gallery you can experience the happenings in the machine hall of Kaprun Main Stage power plant up close. The exhibit is available in two languages. A cinema shows short film clips related to the topics of hydroelectric power, mystic Kaprun, history and technology.

The info centre is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission free.

For groups we offer a guided tour through the info centre upon request.

.....At the same time, learn exciting details about and around the legend of Kaprun and its significance for Austria. In the second room of the exhibition, we explain the interplay of nature and technology. We look at the special features of the Hohe Tauern National Park and inform you about the biggest electricity producers from hydropower in Europe.

Admission to the Electricity Adventure World is included in the entry price to the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs
