The proportion of electric passenger cars on the roads has risen constantly in recent years and currently stands at around 2.6 percent of the total vehicle fleet in Germany and 1.7 percent in Austria. Among new registrations, the proportion of electric cars in Germany is 13.6 percent (BEV) and 12.4 percent (PHEV), while the share of e-cars (BEV) in Austria accounts for 13.1 percent of all new registrations.
