VERBUND expanding PV end customer business with complete takeover of SOLAVOLTA.

27.08.2024Vienna

VERBUND, Austria’s leading energy company, is increasing the 50% stake it has had in SOLAVOLTA since 2015 with immediate effect and taking over the St. Margarethen-based company in full; the company name SOLAVOLTA will be retained. The takeover will see the established company founded in 2008 integrated into the PV business unit for end customers of VERBUND. SOLAVOLTA carries out around 1,000 installations of photovoltaic systems across Austria every year, including comprehensive consultation and precise planning.

By taking over SOLAVOLTA, VERBUND is increasing the capacities needed to be able to cover the demand for photovoltaic systems and associated solutions in the private and SME segments. Combining the competencies and know-how of SOLAVOLTA and VERBUND Energy4Customers, as well as other subsidiaries such as HALLOSONNE, results in innovative ways to offer end customers the broadest possible range of sustainable energy solutions. The complete acquisition of SOLAVOLTA is creating significant differentiation features on the market. These include comprehensive packages covering the planning, installation and initial operation of PV and storage systems, including downstream ecosystem solutions for electromobility and heat pumps, for example.

For Günter Krupitza and Horst Bauer, the two managing directors of SOLAVOLTA, one thing is certain: “We are now able to deploy our existing strengths – installation quality and consulting – even more powerfully. We will continue to guarantee this in future with our team, our many years of expertise and our personal support.”

Marco Vitula, who is responsible for the takeover at VERBUND, emphasises: “The transaction was rapidly completed thanks to the high degree of willingness on the part of everyone involved. The result is that there are no obstacles to the immediate implementation of initial synergy effects in the areas of product offering, installation competence and customer service.

Jürgen Bormann, Managing Director of VERBUND Energy4Customers, adds: “We’re pleased to be able to further deepen the already excellent cooperation in order to reach out to and serve end customers on the Austrian market even better.”
