VERBUND and Wopfinger to cooperate in the supply of energy
Last week VERBUND and Wopfinger reached an agreement for a several-year electricity supply cooperation featuring a total volume of approx. 300 GWh. “VERBUND has thus once again confirmed its position as a successful supplier to the industry on the domestic market,” VERBUND Managing Director Hand Haider emphasizes.
Wopfinger, a manufacturer of building materials belonging to Schmid Industrie Holding, sells its easy-to-process and high-quality brand products under the umbrella brand name of “Baumit”. “Quality management and environmental protection have constituted integral components of our company philosophy for decades and are implemented with consistency in all our businesses. With VERBUND-Austrian Power Sales GmbH, we have found a reliable and clean energy supplier,” Mag. Robert Schmid, Managing Director of Wopfinger Baustoffindustrie GmbH says happily. In total, approx. 30 locations of the Wopfinger Group will be supplied with VERBUND electricity from January 1, 2007.
Since July last year, VERBUND has been present again in the domestic market with its own subsidiary, VERBUND-Austrian Power Sales GmbH. Approx. 25,000 private and business customers meanwhile benefit from the attractive product range offered by Austria’s leading electricity company.
