VERBUND Posts Two Managing Board Positions
At a meeting on 25 January 2011 and at the suggestion of VERBUND Supervisory Board Chairman, Gilbert Frizberg, the Supervisory Board’s nomination committee took the decision to post two positions on the Managing Board.
With that, the members of the Managing Board, reduced to three since June 2010 on account of Christian Kern’s transfer to ÖBB, will be increased to four members once more. A board member is being sought for the hydropower and power grid division, as well as a board member for the international investments division.
Since 2007, the hydropower and power grid division has been managed by board member Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer, whose 5-year contract ends in December 2011 and whose position is therefore to be re-advertised. Board Chairman Wolfgang Anzengruber has managed the international investments division since summer 2010, in addition to his duties as CEO and CFO.
Gilbert Frizberg: "The decision for a four-member-strong Managing Board team corresponds with VERBUND’s importance as Austria’s leading electricity company and its growth strategy with focus on hydropower at home and abroad. We are convinced that, by the middle of the year, we will be able to fill both positions with excellent experts from the energy industry."
In order to bring all management board periods into line, an appointment period until December 2013 is envisaged for the new appointment of the two management positions. The public announcement of the positions takes place on 26 January 2011.
Current VERBUND Managing Board members are:
- Wolfgang Anzengruber, CEO, CFO, International Participating Interests (2009-2013)
- Johann Sereinig, Deputy General Director, Sales/Trading, Thermal Power (2009-2013)
- Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer, Board Member, Hydropower, Transmission Grid, Übertragungsnetz (2007-2011)
